Mode Mayhem

I have a psx iso that was ripped in MODE 1. As far as I know, psx games are supposed to be mode 2. I tried burning it in mode 1, psx hanged at a black screen, tried forcing mode 2, wouldent burn. I am gonna try premastering now and nope that works. But any suggestions are appreciated. I dont think the files in the iso as damaged as they extract successfully and burn successfully. If the fact that it IS burning in mode1 instead of mode2 being the problem, is there any way to make it mode2? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Okayyyyyyyyyy, my premastering job was even worse then a normal burn. The premastered cds, even though I chose mode 2, just made the lazer move back and fourth all over the cd forever.

Please, anybody have any ideas? This game is pretty rare, I really want to be able to play it.

Yes, tried Nero, got the same results as CDRWIN/DJ

I have to convert this image to mode2 somehow. (At least I THINK that is the problem since all the files are intact)

i just tried it with a mode1 image and it does not work sorry.
the only other thing i can think of is to rip the files from the iso and rebuild the disk using the method on http://emus4psx.host.sk/ehardspanish.htm

just remember to read the whole page first and use the tool 2352.bin and not 2336.iso!!
i use this method to build multi game psx disks so it does work!!

it's not confusing if u use 2352.bin as then you do not need to type in any dos commands!

The first zip, cdpsx.zip, refuses to open, I think it might be corrupt. Can anybody else open it? Or at least has the files that are supposed to be in the zip?

Argh, just tried jsing this method, the iso comes out ok but DOES NOT BOOT. Its starting to drive me crazy. Any other ideas? Isnt there some way to just directly convert the iso from mode1 to mode2 withotu extracting all the files and rebuilding it?
