Strange...
If my memory serves me well, you have to binhack some other .bin files (maigo.bin, sg_dpldr.bin, 2_dp.bin). Look for all bin files containing "CD001" and binhack them with your LBA value.

How to make Sonic Adv US - Katana selfboot?

Use isobuster to extract gxme files off from image to HD c:\Selfboot\Data

Delete the " event_adx.afs " -(japaneese language files) in c:\selfboot\data
Note: " event_adx.afs " it's about about 70mb and replace it with a 0 bytes file.
Leave the " event_adx_us.afs " (or something like that) intact!

For now u can follow de Echelon Selfboot Tutorial step by step
or use DC Selfboot Batch file to burn Sonic Adv selfbootable.

If u use the Batch files, Run the following command from a DOS Prompt:
c:\selfboot\
selfboot katana 1st_read.bin SonicAdv

Wait until the process complete

Try it in your DC.

ok, seems you have a non-boot cd of SA
just throw in in your cd-drive, open explorer,
go to your cd drive, mark everything and copy
it over in your data directory.

then follow the instuctions by go.to.selfboot
in the reply before

instead of ... follow the echelon tut. step by step do that:

mkisofs -C 0,0 -V ECHELON -l -o data.iso data
and then use bin2boot
with image.cdi to get a data-data selfboot of SA

like i said termintaor, i been able to do that

it just whenever i use that copy on the 50/60 htz you get a sound like bomb just hit the ground athe blue bits where you select 50 htz,60 htz and test are just blank and filled in with blue

now if you select either 50 or 60 the game will play the intro fmv then just go to a black screen

i have a feeling it has something to do with what megalexx said, i just need more details of what to do

Clarky, fallow Terminator's instructions (don't forget to create a 0 Ko file with the same name), then BEFORE creating your iso, binhack all bin files containing "CD001". This means :
_ with windows explorer, look for "*.bin", containing the text "CD001" (you should get 2_dp.bin, maigo.bin and sg_dpldr.bin)
_ in your DOS session, binhack all these files. Type "binhack" and then enter "2_dp.bin" and "11702" (if your LBA value is 11702), and so on with the other files.
_ then go on with Echelon's method.

DON'T USE Bin2Boot.

Hi,
Try what Megalexxx said first, but when I made mine self-bootable, I used the internet fixer program "inetfixer.exe" on the 1st_read.bin, 2_dp.bin, maigo.bin, and sg_dpldr.bin. Then I made an *.iso with the LBA at 0, and ran bin2boot on it. It worked great for me, and has the internet enabled on it.

Later,
-Ex

Internet fixer sets the LBA value to 0 in all these bin files (maigo, 2_dp and sg_dpldr). So :
_ either you set all LBA values to 0 (using internet fixer) and then Bin2Boot your image
_ either you set all your LBA values to 11702 (or whatever) and use Echelon's method. This one works fine with CDDA...

Hello,
Here are the step that I did. However, my DC keeps rebooting.
1. Replace event_adx.afs with 0 byte file
2. Binhack 2_dp.bin, maigo.bin and sg_dpldr.bin using ip.bin as bootsector file name and LBA 11700
3. Following echoeon tutorial
4. Copy 1st_read.bin, _dp.bin, maigo.bin and sg_dpldr.bin to
data directory.
5. Make iso image
6. ipins
7. Burn data.iso

Thanks for your help in advance.

1) did you also binhack 1st_read.bin ?
2) are you sure your LBA value is 11700 ?

Had also problems first. Go with Inet-Fixer. Got it to work this way.

Hi Megalexxx,
Yes, I did binhack the 1st_read. I did it before hacking other bin files. Does the order of what bin to hack matter ?
Yes, I'm sure about the LBA. After burning the audio.raw using cdrwin, I did "cdrecord -dev=1,1,0 -msinfo to get LBA.

Hi Sliderone,
Would you please give the step by step of how to use Init-fixer.

Thanks,
Sony

Hi Excalibur007,
After making iso with LBA at 0, did you run ipins before bin2boot ?

Thanks,
Sony

Thanks for all the help. I got it by using inet-fixer and skip the ipins step from Echelon's tutorial.
