same sized fixed exe's

i was just wondering, because i haven't tried this, but that Safeidsc2Cleaner program, and maybe others lets you create an 'unsafedisced' file that's the same size as the original. would it be possible to then use a game updating patch on a 'fixed' file that's the same size as the original?, as most game updating thingys check the size of the file

that's why i added that option
some setup programs do a CRC check, some others only check for the filesize. on these games, it should be perfectly possible to replace the protected file by a fixed one and to install/patch correctly without any error messages.
