Can anyone help, I have a PS2 v3 with a no solder chip and the AR2 package from modchip.com...I think I installed it fine? System works with original games. I backup with Nero 5.5.9.0 on CDR 650 mb..but I just can't seem to get the backup to run on my console. I tried their 2 boot methods, no luck! My reset button is red when used and my tray is blue when used. They say something about different colors but I am confused! Suggestions greatly appreciated.

yeah what tyler said are you sure. A version 3 with a r-mod???? i dont think so acctually if you did try it i dont even think that you could put it in because theres no ribbon cable on version 3's. unless theres a version 3-r lol that would be funny.

Ok i think i know where youve gone wrong...
When it says in the boot methods Hold down reset button... do you do it ??? Hold it down till the tray comes out and youll have 5 secs. to swap cds.

Yup I tried that (Method 2) and the tray doesn't come out, Method 1 doesn't work either, after I insert the AR2 disc and restart, while holding the reset buttonthe disc boots up then I select start and without codes then I let go and the screen says "press X" to swap discs but the tray doesn't open, I would have to press the open tray if I want it to open. I am gonna reopen the console to check my connections, hope the ribbon didn't get damaged, if it did where would I get another one?
Thanks for helping.. Last edited by Pitbully; 15-08-2002 at 15:33. |

Might I say, if you can eject normally, then you're ribbon should still be okay.
