editing installsheild files

a lot of the time wehn i am creating backup cd's i get the awkward 1 or 2 games with a cd check that is impossible to copy, there is a conventional way to get around it and that is by to include a patch with the cd that can be used after installation to make the game work, but the problem is that this makes the cd 'unprofessional' at takes time, and may be complicated for some people to do. Do i was wondering is there anyway of editing the installsheild files (*.cab,*.dbr) so that i can replace the original game files with the pacthed ones beforehand so that users can easily install and run the game without realising the unprifessionalism of me cd's

psst, the term 'users' refers to my siblings who use the 'single' computer at home for private domestic use

hurray

i love this program, i've made copies of all my games, just one problem though installshield 7 is out and it's not lonmg before all the games developers start using it and there are none of these cab editors that can patch version 7 installshield files, what do we do then?

another problem

newbies will think that version 1.03b is a much more recent versaion that version 0.20, this is false. version 0.20 is much newer and so far i have not had any problmes when modifying archives with 0.20. I spent hours trying to modify cabds using 1.03b and always ended with crc errors and the like. Please do not bother with version 1.03b and use 0.20, if only somebosy told me that when i started modyfing my cabs.

thanks
