neverwinter nights problem

I recently downloaded a no-cd/fixed exe patch from gamecopyworld. When I went to open the folder I saved it in, it takes a long time and then I get an error :

The disk in drive d: is not formatted, do want to format now?

I had quite a bit of data in this folder, now it is all lost. I cannot even delete the folder. When I try I get this error:

Data error. <cyclic redundancy check>.

Does anyone know how I can open this folder now? If not how can I delete it?

Apparently, your hard disk/partitiion has a logical/physical disk error. Run Scandisk, including (!) the surface test.

Thanks for your help Joe. I ran Check Disk and it found a whole heap of errors, orphaned files and other stuff I'm not to familiar with.
Everythings ok now.

Cheers.
