Warcraft 3 and Firewall don't mix!

Hi,

I'm currently running War3 with the No-CD hack by Deviance. All the Single Player and Battlenet options work perfectly but I'm having trouble in one issue. Has anyone tried to create an "arranged" game under Warcraft3's Battlenet? Whenever I do and "invite" other people for a game, they get the message that a firewall or a router is blocking permission. I currently run ZoneAlarm Pro 3.0 and I'm having trouble creating such games.

In case someone has experience with Zone Alarm Pro 3.0, here's the settings I have on for War3:

Program Access Server
Trusted Internet Trusted Internet

Warcraft III Check Check Check Check

I also tried right-clicking on "warcraft III," and chose "options." I made sure the command, "Allow access to all ports and protocols," was checked. The other options beneath that one are: "Allow access for ONLY the ports and protocols checked below" & "Allow access for any port EXCEPT those checked below."

I'm lost and the ZoneAlarm manual didn't provide any specific instructions. It just said that the firewall would automatically open and close ports as it sees fit for gaming.

Help would be appreciated.

What alerts, if any, does ZAPro throw up when this happens?

The problem is likely to be incoming pings rather than outgoing.

Unload ZAPro, try again. If no luck then obviously not firewall problem.

There would probably be something in the help file about running multiplayer thru firewalls.

hey diehard,

I don't get any messages from ZoneAlarm Pro itself. Rather, I get messages from Blizzard whenever I try to create an arranged game. I've tried the Zone Alarm suggestion posted on Blizzard's official website but it still didn't help me. OH well...
