Has anyone received their Magic 2 (for v5) from Lik-Sang yet? (Question)

Hello, I received my v5 Magic Chip 2 from www.lik-sang.com this afternoon, and when I opened the package the pcb of the chip was brown, but yet it still had an "R" sticker on it. Can anyone confirm to me that this is still for the v5 board, or did they send me the wrong chip? Thanks in advance...I'm going to be driving 4 hours to get it installed tomorrow, and I don't want to get all the way there for it to be the wrong chip.

I answered that on the other forum. The one lik-sang sent me was blue.

Charlie, I just spoke with Bill from freedomlives.com (he mentioned that he knew you) and he said his gut instinct was that the chip that I received is for v5, and he doesn't think it's a v7 chip. Even though I just got finished comparing the picture of the v7 chip off of www.china-magic.com and it looks identical to the chip I'm holding in my hand right now, right down to the little smiley face to the left of the word "Magic 2". You would know better than I...is it possible that Lik-Sang did ship out a batch of v7 chips, even though on their website it says they won't be available until the 22nd? Or is it possible that this is indeed a v5 chip with a brown pcb? And you might want to e-mail Bill about it, as when I go there tomorrow we were going to test it on my v5 machine first, but if it didn't work on that, we were going to put it in my v7 I'm bringing along just in case...I'd hate for him to waste an hour and a half putting it in the wrong one. Thanks a lot for your help...

messiah rocks thats garaunteed
but not available v5 usa yet
reports r this chip works so at moment if u got v5 or v6 it has to b magic chip (at the moment)
but if messiah teams releases usa messiah all versions from same chip no bridging then i say messiah would b top chip again
if they release 2 wire clip as well then 10 min install by anyone
do i need say more
but at moment magic2 is here it works v5/v6 soon the v7 version

Go for it. It won't do any harm. You've got nothing else in your hand! I've sent the Install Guide to Bill. Anyway it's his first magic 2 so he'll be kind to you.

There is also a clip now for the Magic 2, I believe on http://www.neoasic.com/magic2-clip.htm

yeah they finally release info on the version 7's. Which is what i have. bastards. so now i got this mod cube and jumper wire installed. supposed tow ork with DVD region X and they dont' even have a update for DVDplayer V2.12U ....so i'm just oging to get a chip. Just wondering what chip i should get.

i know magic 2 makes it for V7, but i have't searched for the messiah...
