Copying CD's

I am very new to the copying scene and was wondering if any body could answer me a few questions.

1) How long should it take to copy a games CD (eg The Sims) on my computer (which is brand spanking new) it takes so long that i give up in the end.

2)what are the best Cd cloning programmes?

3) does any one know where to get a tutorial of how to copy PC games from
