Original copy of LMA 2002...

I have a chipped PS2. When playing an original copy of LMA Manager 2002 the PS does not see the memory card. The game is as it would be bought from a shop. The dongle with the chip has been left in and also removed, both result in the machine saying there is no memory card inserted. The memory card is fully functional...Help!
