SVCD is wast of time VCD more Compatible

I don't no why a lot of you are still fucking with SVCD thinking it superior or something. You can create almost dvd quality movies in VCD format by cranking up the bitrate, and a few other tweaks. I have made over one hundred VCD's and people can not tell the differance from the original. But I do have a lot experience in this field as I specialize in making movies like weddings (ect) from VHS to DVD/VCD. Remember just explore the programs you use to there full potential. Just because a program says this is the
recomended settings, doesn't mean you have to use them. I mean like the bitrate for VCD being 1150 come on get real. I use over 2000 sometimes. Having a superior machine also helps I make most of my movies in under 4 hours mostly 3.5 hours. Hope this helps. PLEXTER FOREVER!

DVDx

Forgot to mention DVDx is probably one of the best for making VCD/SVCD. Use version 1.6 or 2.0 the others have minor probs.
And its FREE FREE.

We fuck about with it because:

(PAL) 480 x 576 - Audio 384 kbs

is far superior to

(PAL) 352 x 288 - Audio 224 kbs

regardless of how you tweak your settings

i was gonna say the same thing yesterday, but my internet pooped out for once. despite tweaking - those resolutions are set in stone, and i can see the blocky-ness of a vcd on a 27 " screen. you cant imagine how sh*tty it appears on a bigger one. *throws up on the thought*
