Messiah right for me?

Hi all, just wanting to know if the Messiah is right for me. Here is my PS2 info:

Model: SCPH-30001
U.S. Version 4
Processor is "no Gap" type.

I'm just not real clear if the Messiah will work on the "no gap" processor chips.
Also have a Phillips 3210S CD-RW, will this work with copying and burning PS2 games?
