HALF-LIFE Install problem on WINDOWS XP

I have the Half-Life Class rip (about 166MB).

After I extract the 65 fils to my computer I then try and open the install file. If I run it in compatibility with XP then I get an error message. If I try and run it with compatilbity to Wind 98, nothing happens.

Anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?
