Neverwinter Nights Backup

Hello All

Trying to find a way to backup Neverwinter Nights without having to use a no cd crack or such. I have an LG 8120B Cd writer, it can support raw dao, raw sao, etc. etc. I have tried using blindsuite to do it, no luck and also clone cd, also no luck. Any hints or anything would be helpful!

I found out that it was SecuROM
What settings should i use? Which program? *Clone Cd* *Blindwrite Suite*? Url would help, or anything..

This page - http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware..._securom.shtml - suggests using CloneCD in RAW mode with subchannel data. If anyone gets it working 100% then please post.

Also, any word on keygens? Does it look like it looks up keys in a database when you try to play online, or will any key work that is accepted by the installer?

Because I have a LAN and would like to have more than one copy online at once if possible, just like that other guy who wants to play it with his kids.

Well tried pretty much everything, checked all of GCW, follwed every tip i could, latest versions of all software..still cannot, frustrated, already blew ten cdr's...arg..lol..i have to result to no cd crack, well if anyone comes up with a way how, be sure to post it asap!!

Well I tried making a copy of the play disc just for the heck of it. I used a recent version of CloneCD to rip to the hard drive (with subchannel data) - there were numerous unreadable sectors starting about 90% into the disk. I then burned it back to a disk using RAW SAO+SUB (I could have used RAW DAO instead, but I don't think it would be any more likely to work).

When I tried to run the game with the disk in either my CDROM or CDRW drives, it could tell it was a copy (the game logo would disappear after a few seconds). However, I ran Daemon Tools and enabled Securom emulation mode and the game loaded fine. So if you have copies that aren't working for you, you might want to try using Daemon Tools to get them working - it's a better option than cracks because you're using the original EXE for the game, plus you don't have to wait for a new crack whenever a new patch comes out.

Of course, another option is to use the original play disc to start the game on all computers, since (if you do a full install) it doesn't read the disc anymore after you start the game (I tested it and it works).

I Have also tried the same with the latest version of clone cd, No success as well *Also in Raw+DAO*, i also d/l the latest version of daemon tools, which i wouldnt mind using, except everytime i tried to run it, it would freeze randomly..i noticed someone else on the board was having the same problem, wether i loaded an image onto virtual drive, or used to copied cd, froze nwn, either way...using daemon tools, 3.11 strange...

Yes I also noticed the game freezing after a minute or two. Maybe alt-tabbing out and closing Daemon Tools as soon as the game loads would prevent that? (I'm thinking that maybe this new Securom can detect Daemon Tools, but not until after the game loads)

I just looked on the Daemon Tools message board ( http://www.dtools.de/cgi-bin/iboard3...t=ST;f=9;t=254 ) and there is a discussion about a game called Nascar2002 which also uses Securom and also freezes. One of the Daemon Tools developers says that it is detecting Daemon Tools and freezing on purpose, and that it will be fixed in the next version (hopefully not just for Nascar2002). This was on the 31st of May, however, and there isn't a new version out as of the 21st of June.
