You're welcome Packer, and I *think* you might be able to overclock your 32x to a 48x if you wanted to... it seems that many LiteOn recorders have the same exact hardware, the only difference being the firmware. A lot of people have flashed their LiteOns using firmware from faster models, many with great success... check that forum I mentioned for details... I think it's a 'sticky' topic.

ok I know the ZS0J changes my burner from Z-CLV @ 24x +
to a P-CLV....

is this a added feature? which one is better? and or does the ZS0J fw allow me to choose Z-CLV or P-CLV?

p is better. Z introduces errors into your cd's, as the laser pauses to change speed.

No, net yet. Call me scared, I guess. I've read a lot about it though, and it would seem that about 85% have reported great success with no problems at all, but then there's always those who report read problems or total failure, etc.. for whatever reason (maybe they didn't read instructions properly)
But since I already have a 40x, I don't see much benefit to going up to 48x. Although, I think I read that the latest 48x firmware improves readability in audio protected CDs so I may reconsider...

Well supposedly the firmware is easy to downgrade, should you want to go back to anything earlier. I've read where peoples LiteOns got screwed up, then they fixed them by flashing back to the original firmware... but still, it's taking a chance... I guess we'll have to weigh the risks and the benefits.
I'll probably go on and update my 40x to 48x soon I guess. I'll let you know how it turns out.

well,i can't understand why are you scared....if'when you upgrated the firmware at another version for another(faster)burner and you couldn't downgrade, then it would be a problem, but why not....?anyway,this is 1 more advantage for liteons.....

Well I flashed from 40x to 48x now with no problems (yet!) that I can tell. Reading and writing seems to be fine. SD2 is still a piece of cake.
LiteOns aren't the only CD recorders that can be overclocked. I've also read of some LG drive models and certain other brands that the overclocking trick works on.
Now I can't wait until LiteOn comes out with a 52x so maybe I can flash to that too!
