CD Burner Changing

I have backed up Operation Flashpoint with my HP cd-writer; I had to use AWS to burn the discs (SD 2.30.33). I could only run it in my writer, (old story...) even without Hide CDR-Media enabled!

But now my writer doesn't work anymore
I'm planning to buy a new writer (Plextor or Lite-On, I'm not sure yet).

I was just wondering: will I be able to run my OFP backups on my new cd-writer ?
Or will these backups only work in a HP ?
