laser adjustment
can anyone help point me in the write direction I.E. detailed info on how to adjust the dvd laser
my backups only seem to play smoothly if they are burned on DVD RW thanks in advance

Have you tried at least one high quality DVD-R? They have about double the reflectivity of cheap DVD-Rs. DVD-RW are usually much higher quality compound than unbranded DVD-R.
You should try this just to be sure that it's a media problem. Recalibrating may incrase the laser power for the lower reflectivity DVD-R but your laser will burn out in the short to medium term.

Hi charlie
I have only used Verbatim DvD-r they play but often freeze . it was'nt until I tried the Verbatim DVD-RW that the freezing problem went completely. expensive. I also bought some cheap general purpose dvds £1 each (Bulkpaq), same thing again load okay but within 2 minutes freeze. I think its somthing to do with the colour , my ps2 does'nt like pink dvds What do you think
