Question Any studies done on quality of DVD-Rs?

I just discovered www.cdmediaworld.com, and they have an excellent set of articles on compatibility & longevity of CD-Rs. They've done testing, they have a great discussion on the different dyes and how to tell which manufacturer is using which dye, all kinds of cool stuff.

Does anybody know of similar information on DVD-Rs? I'm burning home movies, and I have the 2 usual requirements - (1) compatibility - they should play in my DVD player, my mother's, my brother's, etc. and (2) I want the DVD-Rs to be really stable so I can still view them 20 years from now.

Thanks!
Chris
