how easy is it to Replace a dead dvd-laser on V5?

I have a ps2 in for dvd-laser replacment, they havnt gone ahead with any work yet as they are out of stock of the laser replacments.

I was thinking of ordering a new laser and fitting it myself, how hard is it to replace??

I am able to install no-solder mods, no hassels (no big claim)
but would I be able to do the laser replacment too?

Are there any guides avalable to help??
What sites supply the replacments?

I have also heard that only V4 lasers are avalible and they need to be slightly modified to fit into a V5 ps2, any truth to that?

The repair company wants $200.00/100.00US
what a rip off...

Thanks in advance

Elkay

v5 lasers are not easy to come by and I can't find them. v4 lasers cost $70 US to buy. So $30 to fit is not a bad price. Please search on my posts for Laser Chnaging and adjustments.
