cant write CD-RW's, only CD-R's!!!

I have a Creative CDRW Blaster 4224, and I can't seem to write rewriteable disks anymore! Ive upgraded to firmware 1.44 (latest as far as I know), but still nothing. I can write to normal disks though. I think I can erase disks though.

Can anybody suggest any fix for this? I've contacted Creative afew times and I never get any help.

Change your media, it is almost certainly the media you are using. I have two Liteon burners(24x and 32x) and they hate Imation media, everything else works fine. Same symptoms as you have got; appears to write but cannot be read.

It might be what I had with my old cd burner. There may be a hardware failure there. There is a different set of circutry for the rw section. And it could very well be going out. Just a suggestion. Call the manufacture to confirm.
