Question Dungeon Siege Backup impossible without CloneCD?

Hi ppl!
I copied all of the Dungeon Siege data to my harddisk and burned it with original labels. BUT when I try to install the game, it says something like "media error" (sorry but I have the german version and you wouldn't understand the german error message ) and I have to either retry or abort. Of course retry doesn't work so when I try to abort it, the setup continues to install... How dump is that? But it gets even better. When the setup is finished, and I try to start the game, it says "DungeonSiege.exe is no win32 application". And the icon of that executable has also gone (well it was never there though). So I tried to install the game from hd but it was the same error. And now the best of the story comes: I put the data of cd1 on my friend's hd and installed the game over LAN!! (without that media error). The same thing when I install it over LAN and my friend has the backup cd in drive. So I installed the game from the backuped cd of my friend's cd rom over LAN!! What the...

So does anyone of you know how to make a working backup of DungeonSiege without CloneCD?

There must be another copy protection in the setup file!!!

Can anyone perhaps put it out of there, so that I can install the game from a backup cd?

Thx for reading

GLH is on a distinguished road
I've copied DUNGEON SIEGE [german] using this way:
(CloneCD crashed by reading the discs!!!)

- I've created an image (.bin) of both discs with IsoBuster.
(It takes a long time for disc one, cause there are bad sectors!!!)
- cause there are no .cue files, so i convert the .bin to .iso with WinIso
- burned the .iso with BlindWrite Suite

It works fine like the original! It's an 1:1 clone.

I've do this with my own original-discs that i've bought. A "friend" has tryed this way with disc from Video-Renting-Store and it does'nt work !!!

(hope my worse english is understandable!!!)

Well, CloneCD and a good writer should work fine anytime. Right settings found by ClonyXXL of course.

You say you can install it from your friends CD-Rom over LAN? And not from your own? Meaby your CD-Rom is f*ed up.

And...
