Booting PS1 games on PS2

I got a no-solder mod, and a pioneer a04. have backed up plenty of my dvd games successfully.

here is my question.

i got the chip from gamegizmo.com. the instructions to boot a dvd-r game did not work, but a fine fella here posted a known working method.

the gamegizmo site said not to use the gameshark codes, and when i followed their directions, no luck.

when i tried the method i found here, where u do enable the codes, etc, it worked like a champ.

ok, so finally here is the question:

what is the WORKING procedure to get it to play backed up ps1 games, and also, i am backing up my 1st NON DVD title (knockout kings).

how does the copy process differ, and how do i get it to boot.

have Nero, CDRWIN, etc.

thanks.

PS ONE CD (Silver or CD-R)

1. Boot AR2/GS2 disc 2.
2. At the main screen, select START GAME (picture 5) and then select WITHOUT CODES (picture 6).
3. Once the AR2/GS2 is asking to change the code archive (picture 7), press the EJECT button till the light changes from green to orange.
4. The CD tray will now open and you can replace the CD with your backup copy.
5. The CD tray will automatically close after about 5 seconds.
6. Wait till the the power LED changes from orange to green again and press X now to start the game.
