I'll second that.
I've got a TOSHIBA 24x cd-rom and like the CloneCD help file states, these little gems will read a whole host of media and protection systems. In fact out about 2000+ discs Iv'e shoved in the thing there have only been a handful that have been totally unredable. Quite a lot of cd-writers will write in full RAW mode but won't read in the same manner, hence the reason why so many people still use a good CD-ROM to do their RAW reading. Anyway, you save wear and tear on your writer by reading from a cd-rom! I use a TOSHIBA cd-rom to do my RAW reading and a Traxdata writer to write from (doesn't write in full RAW mode so a few games don't work). I don't know how good the DVD combo drives are at the moment, perhaps Tosiba does a model? The CLoneCD help file will suggest a few good cd-roms for you. All the best. |
