Creative have a nasty habit of changing the manufacturers of their cdrw drives hence the 1210e will be the first version of the 12*10*32
then their next realese by a different manufacturer might be 1212e
and will be sold in the same box under the same 12*10*32 label.
THis make me very angry as the first release ie 1210e or 8432e for the 8*4*32 model are both plextors so the drive gets good write ups and everyone thinks its a good drive. but then they drop the price of the drive and sell panasonics and sumsungs in the place of the origional burner whch is in a way fraud!
if you want to know what creative burner you have ##### what it says when you boot your computer or goto system properties under cdrw/cdrom drive and it should be in there somewhere...

For the above mentioned reasons try to avoid buying a creative...
however if you really want one you can ##### which model the burner is by looking at the details on the "About your drive" piece of paper that comes with your drive...
if you need to know more post another msg
hope ive been of some help....
