Messiah question...

Hello,

This is my first time posting on your board. The question that I have is, can I have the Messiah chip installed on my PS2 USA console? I've heard that this chip only works on PAL versions of the PS2 console.

Here are the details of my PS2 console.
Model number: SCPH-30001 R
PlayStation 2 NTSC - U/C
AC120V 60Hz 79W

Any and all help that you can provide regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

30001 v1-3 = 10 Screws on base of PS2
30001 v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 and Electrical Hazard Warning
30001R v4 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 and Electrical Hazard Warning
30001R v5 = 8 Screws on base of PS2 and Electrical Hazard Warning with an extra screw on to of the expansion bay

Serial # (x determines alphabet, U = USA, A = Australia)
x1: v1 with 10 screws
x0: v2 with 10 screws
Note: x0 with 8 screws the PS2 is v4
x2: v3 with 10 screws
x3/x4/x5/x6: v4 with 8 screws

so if its 30001 and has 8 screws then u r ok as long as date code is not 1c

Thanks for replying. It's a v4 with a date code of 1D.

I saw only 8 screws on the bottom of the console and no screws on the expansion bay in the back of the console.

I'll email you to get a quote on the price of the Messian chip and also if you know of any installers who can add this chip to my PS2 chip here in Southern California, USA.
