I was told that it could play Import ( Originals and Backup) for now I tried with my backups and it works but I dont want to buy an Original Jap or Usa ver and find out that i cant run it ( oh ups I forgot I live in Italy so my ver is PAL, hehehe Sorry!).
Were can I find a list of games that work and what do I kneed to know ( I am terribly sorry for my poor english ) Oh and I dont know the chip I had put in what type it is is there anyway I can find out? Thanks and hope to hear from someone

bullshit.
it won't boot original imports, and you have to swap. also, it destroys the laser in time.
if you want a mod that plays "anything you throw at it", get a messiah.

it's a known fact. the neo constantly pulses its signal into the ps2, eventually destroying the dvd laser diode. it doesn't happen as fast if you use a cap and a resistor, but it still harms the laser.

how would you set that up?.im getting my ps2 chipped with a neo 2.2 soon.before you cry "get a messiah"ill tell you why im getting a neo 2.2
1.i already have an Action Replay v2
2.as of now i cant afford a messiah plus install
3.i have a v3 ps2.its gonna die soon enough and when it does ill get a v5 with a messiah.

so what should i tell the guy who is gonna chip it to do with the capactior and resistor?,and how many farads should the capacitor be and how many ohm's should the resistor be?.

220-270 ohm for the resistor, 1 uf for the cap. + pin to pin 2 of the chip, - to the resistor, resistor to the pin 2 point on the board.

I recommend you get an origa instead, tho. it's not that expensive, works very well, and does not harm the laser.. and plays dvd-r and import original with a single swap. no sense in destroying a working ps2 and buying another for lots of money.

i thought the origa only needed a swap for backups and was no swap for import originils?.

do you know anywhere in europe(or even better,uk or Ireland) that sells the Origa by mail order?.i have the cash but i dont have a credit card so i cant order online.

depends. PAL origa needs a single swap for imports, jap and US origa doesn't.
check around for various mod shops in UK, they should have it and possibly sell via other payment methods too.

time to get a debit or credit card, you just cant do much online without one. you live in a beautiful but small country and you will probably need one in the future for ordering other stuff.
