Skies Of Arcadia NTSC PAL prob

hey
i got an import of Skies Of Arcadia (jap) and my DC is PAL
when i try boot it with a boot disc or even self booting it wont work
when trying to self boot it just goes to the main DC menu screen (memory card etc etc)
i tried the game shark and that wont boot it
not sure whether the prob is the jap version on a PAL system or wether the disc is just stuffed

I had both versions of SOA (Jap & European).
The Jap one only worked with a NTSC cable. I never found any patch to have it work with a PAL DC.
I had to download European version, that works perfectly.
