Is the Plextor 16/10/40A really such a bullshit???? It causes crashes.

I own this recorder and I'm only having problems with it. First I had to accept that it can't read RAW data to make 1:1 copies and know I get complete system crashes(blank screen and Strg+Alt+del does not work) while using nero or clone-cd. i tried to copy "deus ex" and "homeworld:cataclysm" i destroyed 6 cd-r's before i gave up. it's possible to burn cd's without copy protection and audio cd's...but not those two. is this a kind of copy protection or is the recorder damaged?

I have to agree that Dues EX was a problem to back up for me too. It would crap out near the end of the copying.

Another problem I have experienced lately is that my backup of Red Alert 2 with the safedisc 2 disabled worked fine in my plextor 16, now all of a sudden it would crash my entire system if I place the disc in the drive. The backup will play fine in my DVD rom. I'm a little concerned that it maybe dying on me. Anyone else have this problem that they backup something, it works for a while then craps out?

I have plex 12/10/32. In the beginning i ran several burn programs AND the master/slave/IDE settings were not optimal. Windows and burn-software crashed a lot. and i mean a lot !!! but the helptool at www.nero.com helped me out.

You should ##### the files in you windows\system\iosubsys dir.
