Q: Nero 5.5.x and HP9100

Was over at my folks house and helped my Dad backup data on his computer using Nero and HP9100 CD-RW. All the discs backed up his data fine, but I noticed Nero's buffer meter(the top line in the "burn" dialog box" stayed at 30 per cent all the time. I am not familiar with his install of Nero(what he chose for options.)

Does this signal Nero using the drives built in buffer? I know on my Liteon 24X the buffer stays near maxed. I seem to remember that during my install something recommended not using the drives buffer and allowing virtual memory handle caching?

Anyone offer any insight in whay this happens on his HP?
