Auto notification or is it identification + possible problem with Lite-On 40/12/48?
Installed Fireburner (latest version) under XP for my Lite-On 40/12/48 cd writer..........upgraded EZCD creator to the latest version (5.1xxx). No problems as such.
Had to reinstall due to moving the operating system from d: to c: Followed the same sequence, but now I can get XP to tell me whether there's a disc in the drive. All it says is CD-RW (f for example, unless there's been a reboot and then it says whatever the last disc in the drive was. I can open cd's, write to them etc without problems, but no indication of what the disc is called. When I installed FB, it asked me something along the lines "Do you want to disable auto notification in order to stop cds running when placed in the drive?". I believe I said Yes here, and since then, the above problem. I've searched everywhere for an option to turn this back on, but there's nothing that I can see. |

To enable autorun:
Goto Run, then type gpedit.msc Goto Administrative Templates, then System. Click on Turn Off Autoplay to highlight it, then click properties and edit it from there. (If I remember correctly) Update: How did I forget - Ditch Easy CD Cremator
