Backup copy of PS2 game?

I have a PSX game console, I have no problems making backup copies of my games and playing them. I'm thinking about purchasing a PS2. Can I make backup copies (CD-R or DVD-r) for PS2. Will it be as easy as making backups for the PSX? Or will I have to download the games?

If you install a messiah chip in your ps2. It will be a walk in the park. DVD-R just make a straight copy and so with cd if you burn cd with clonecd. DVD-R you`ll have to burn with prassi primo dvd or the latest version of nero and you can use a pioneer dvd burner. It`s the best one for now. Make sure you buy yourself a dvd-r and not dvd+r
