ps1 games on ps2

i have my ps2 with a equalizer disc which enables you to play ps1 games on a ps2 .
doies anybody knows how this works as i have seem to have forgotten much abliged

uhm.. ps2 plays psx discs anyways.
without a mod, said disc wouldn't work anyways, and with the mod, all psx games work, so I'd say that disc is bullshit.

No boot disc for PSX will work on a PS2.

If you want to play ps1 backups you still need a modchip. If you only want to play ps1 backups the best modchip will be a usb key. Its good for ps1 backups but for other things it sucks so only buy it when you only want to play ps1 backups.
