Oh no, i just bought that cdrw, it better burn those .rar and .r** of mine, i'll try and post back to let you know.

.rar is not a burning extension it is a archive file. .rar files are the same as .zip files but are used by a diff programme (winrar). .rar files are files compressed using winrar so all u do is get that programme, u can then extract the files from the archive to ur harddisk and then u can use a programme to burn those files from the hard drive.

Than does that mean there is no way i can burn compress file such as zip, lha, rar, or any of the r* onto a cd?

U can burn zip and rar files onto a cd using nero or something but u will not be able to read the files in the dir straight off, u will need to extract the files from the archive onto ur hard disk and then read them. While the files are in the zip file u cannot run the programme inside without getting winzip or winrar up.
