Hi,
Are you having problems booting your backup???? or making one??? Check out Deanos site www.psxcopyworld.co.uk there are tutorials on there that will help you out with CDR-WIN AND CLONE CD (your writer has to be 100% compatible) Also you didnt mention you had a boot cd, your need one of those aswell to play your backups. i mean ... why we can't play backup without a modchip?
how does the ps2 know this is backup or not? Is there something on the CD that we can't use our software to burn? |

Sony have developed something in the PS2 that checks whether the cd / dvd is a genuine PS2 disc.
The point of the modchip is that it bypasses this check. Hope this helps Sim PM |

From what I've been able to determine, the pre-boot sequence of the PS2 uses the laser "off-Phase" to determine from the colour surface whether or not this is a genuine disk and of what type (PS, PS2 CD, DVD). THEN it goes into the boot sequence that can be caught by the modchip. AR2/GS and the like would need to be produced using valid Sony OEM methods.
Valid PS2 disks are pressed not burned. Hope that answers you. |
