I'm having a problem with making a backup of a kalisto release....The ones im having problems with are code veronica,nhl2k,wwf royal rumble...I'm sure theres more but its just kalisto releases i have downloaded in the form of bin/cue...I used bin2boot to make it a bootable cdi and that works great..The cd boots right up without no problems But i cant make a copy of the kalisto backup..Why? All the other games i have (80 or so) i can make a copy of the backup without a problem and it will selfboot without a problem....For the kalsito releases i mentioned i used nero/clonecd/and dj...They will make a copy without no errors on all 3 programs but the copy will not selfboot..I tried the utopia disc to see if it would selfboot it and that wouldnt work either...Any help on how to make a selfboot backup of a kalsito release would be great...Thanks in advance

When u made the cdi image (with DJ) did the resulting image have 2 separate sessions with only a single Mode 2 CD/XA track in the 2nd session? Thats what you need to have in a cdi image in order for it to be self bootable.
You need 2 separate sessions. You can extract all tracks (track by track) with CDRWin (thats what i use, but i think u can do that with anything) and when u burn them put all audio tracks in the first session and ONLY the data track (Mode 2 CD/XA) in the 2nd session. |

Thanks for the responce...I know about the 2 sessions (1 for audio the other for data) I mentioned these were kalisto releases that i used bin2boot on...The backup's do work(are bootable) and they are all 2 sessions..But i cant make a copy of them...Dont understand at all...I have around 80 dc games and I have only around 7 kalisto releases that i downloaded(Nhl2k,Resident evil cv, WWf royal rumble, etc)I have those and they are bootable copies(by using bin2boot) and they are 2 sessions but cant make a bootable backup...And im pretty much lost...I'm running windows XP Pro with an LG CDRW 8083B...Im gonna look to see if there are any upgrades for drivers for it and if so i'll upgrade...I am totally lost in this...Thanks for the reply

I finally figure it out...The was trying to make an exact copy of nhl2k for a friend and resident evil cv and some other kalisto releases...The copy that booted was 2 sessions 2 tracks 78:11:30...So i made a copy of that backup and checked to see what was missing and found out it was 6 sec's short (probably missing the audio track)..The backup i made from the selfboot back up was 2 sessions 1 track 78:05:28...I used my dvd player to read the copy and for some reason wasnt supporting it...My bad...Now i used my cd recorder and tried it and it makes an exact copy...I posted this just incase someone runs into a problem like this...If u have problems making a copy like i did or just getting a cdi to boot..Rule of thumb is make sure its 2 sessions and if it is and still dont boot make sure your firmware/drivers are upgraded..Or if possible trying using a diffrent drive to read the backup if your trying to make a 1 to 1 copy like i was trying to do..Every drive cdrom/dvd/cdrw support and unsupport many things and u have to watch out for that...Thanks for the help tintino
