Question Sony Dvd Writers

Im thinking of taking the plunge and buying a DVD Writer in the next few weeks, everyone seems to be burning at Single speed which seems very slow,i've stumbled across this Sony Dvd Writer that writes at x2.5(two and a half times) and its not a bad price at $499 with a $50 refund . Wadda yer think ???

DVD+RW/CD-RW Drive
DRU110A/C1 $499.99

OVERVIEW
Sony advances into DVD recording with the new DRU110A/C1 combination DVD+RW/CD-R/RW burner. This exciting product combines traditional CD burning with the ability to burn and playback DVD video and DVD-ROM formats on DVD+RW media. DVD+RW is a rewritable disc with the ability to store more than 2 hours of DVD video or up to 4.7GB of computer data. What's more, DVD+RW discs are compatible with most DVD players and computer DVD-ROM drives*. The internal EIDE drive comes complete with DVD authoring software for converting your video footage into DVD format, as well as software for burning CDs and DVDs.
*DVD+RW discs recorded on this drive may not play back on some older or entry-level DVD systems.

Sony

The Sony is a DVD+R. All DVD+R write at 2.5x. It is fine for films and most standalone player will read it, and it is compatible with the new DVD recorders for TV. The problem is that it doesnt write DVD-R, which is what you need for PS2 games and a lot of PC drives.
DVD+R best for Movie production
DVD-R best for Games
Hope this helps
