Thank yall so much for replying..I have sum more questions for yall....NUMBER ONE..How can you tell if a game is DVD format or CD format...cause im gonna look like a dork tellin my friend i can do this and the game we want will end up being on DVD(Dont have a DvdRam drive yet)....and NUMBER TWO how can you tell if your PS2 is PAL or the other...We live in Texas if that gives any idea.???...thank yall so much

First of all it will say ony the disc if it is a compact disc or DVD rom and to find out what type of PS2 you have just look at the back of it and it should say next to the serial number.

some tips :

if u bought the ps2 in the us its probably us ntsc
europe is most likely pal
and far east is probably jap ntsc

about the dvd cd problem u can use a pc to determine the type
with a cd rom and dvd rom drive
u can browse ps2 disc in pc .

If you purchased the console in the US it's a NTSC, for dvd identification simply look at the bottom of the game, purple is compact disc silver is dvd. It is also written on the front like subzero said.

Another thing I noticed, is that you said you didn't have a DVDRam Drive yet... I'm not entirely sure, but when you start looking, get a DVD-R drive, not a DVD-RAM drive. (Sure the cost is cheaper, but it won't work as far as I know. Past posts and advice from "fellow forumers" convinced me to return my Yamaha DVD-RAM for a Pioneer DVR-A03, which works beautifully.)
