Talking VCD Player

Yo, Gypplay is your best bet. You can get it from www.dcemulation.com. It gives info on how to burn VCD's. Another thing you might need is Video Mach. It converts files (avi, mpeg, asf, etc.). And if you need a crack for Video Mach, you can get it from Astalavista.box.sk. My e-mail is EezusJeezus********com if you need anything else.

One warning though... From what I hear (I've not used it before), Some individuals may consider GYPLAY to be just that - a GYP, because some people have complained that it is slow and choppy.

Is it coincidence that they named it "GYP" PLAY (GYPLAY) when the word GYP is a politically incorrect slang term meaning "Being cheated", in reference to "Gypsies".

Disclaimer: I don't use this word and I don't necessarily think that Gypsies or any other ethnic group is bad or a bunch of cheats. Some people take offense at the use of the word and I wanted to make it clear that this email was only in reference to its use (intended or coincidental) in the name of the player.

Naw, actually the way it looks on your computer is the same way it will look on your tv screen.

The vcd player released on the DC that swaps the loader disc with an actual VCD is supposed to be crappy. gypplay is supposed to be slightly better, but I have used it, and it isn't the greatest, and if you try to view anything over 30 minutes on it, it seems to freeze sometime after 30 min.. Choppiness and pixelation (especially when shifting scenes) is exhibited, but it is free and readily available.

If you have a saturn, playstation, or 3DO, get a VCD addon. That will give you better quality compared to the software-only options on dreamcast.
