Backing up Tiberian sun ( I know its old)
I have a Sony CRX-145S burner.... I was successfull at burning the GDI disc, but I have tried to burn the NOD disc once and it didn't work... the CD I burnt it on couldnt even be read properly! I know its's got an early version of Safedisc.... I know that because I used that Clony program... I also used the settings that clony tells me to use.
My original NOD CD doesnt seem to be damaged because I can use it easly to play the game and install. I don't know whether the CDR I burnt it on was fauly or the NOD CD requires slightly different settings.. maybe slower reading and burning speeds? My Settings: Read: Fast error skip Write: Laser Calibration Close last session. |

Ok I burnt another copy... it works in the CD burner drive... the odd thing it does not have any autoplay anymore. In my normal CD drive it can't read it properly, now here is the odd thing when I went to play the game it worked in both drives... but my normal cd drive cabnt read it in windows explorer... I went into the windows dos prompt to see if it would read it... it did! Weird anyway it works but you just can't use it to install game and look at the files in windows explorer.
The image dump worked in Daemon tools virtual drive thing... perfectly! GO FIGURE! |

Hay, I got SONY crx145E, and it's not the best drive ever to copy games. I tried to backup tiberian sun (too
) and i used unsafedisc to unlock safedisc protection but it didn't work, the CD produced had auto run, could install the game but during game play, you must insert the original CD. I found a nice solution for this, just apply the latest update and the backup CD will be recognized as the original one. This is not as good as 1:1 copy but will do. Did you use the writer to read or another reader?

Try copying the entire content of the cd onto your harddrive then using nero to write the cd, dont forget to name the destination cd tha same as the source, always chaeck for hidden files too! While the contents of the cd is on your HD add a folder called FIX and put the game fix in it.
