.NFO extension

A couple of times when I got no CD hacks for certain games when I expanded then the patch would have a .NFO extension. When I double click this it tells me that the patch is not a system information file and brings up a window to pick a system information file. What do I do? How do I use these .nfo patches? Let me know, thanks a lotm, Lolo

To view .nfo's to their best gointo a dos shell (MSDOS Prompt) typ edit anbd then open up the .nfo from the file -> open menu, this way .nfo files are viewed as they should be.
