Only some CD-Writer can correct copy Safedisk V2, e.g. Traxdata or Philips.

With a burner like that it should work.
When burning a game with safedisk v.2 u have to read the cd at a speed of 1 and no higher and burn the cd at a speed of 1 and no higher.

It will take a while but it should work. it the cd is that important to u then time is no problem!

Very few drives can cope with Safedisc 2. Take a look here
http://www.cdrinfo.com/software/clonecd/page13.shtml
and go to the list "Compatible SD2 CDR-W drives"

Just slow down your recording speed and you should be fine. I had to fall back to 4X with an My Acer drive to get Max Payne to copy. Worst case scenario you can fix your image file with BetaBlocker before transfering the image to CD. If you have to use Daemon or cracks you are doing something wrong. Utilizing those programs just means you haven't figured out how to copy protected games yet. I don't mean to upset those who use them, all I mean is that they are not necessary...especially when you can purchase an Acer CRW 1208a on PriceWatch for $99.00 or less....hmmmm

Interesting collection of ideas matey!

1. You will not produce 1:1 copies of SD2 titles without a burner that can do correct EFM encoding of byte patterns found on SD2 cds. Only those listed can produce copies that work in any cdrom. Recording speed will have make no difference if your writer can't handle these special "weak sectors".

2. Betablocker doesn't work with every burner or game title (e.g. doesn't work with my plex 8432, even though others have had success).

3. Using Daemon tools doesn't show that you haven't worked out how to copy protected games.....it just lets those who don't have compatible hardware copy and run these SD2 titles.

On a personal note, I have two burners which are both capable of producing 1:1 copies of almost every protection scheme, except SD2. To get around this I'm lucky that I can do a little tinkering with the software concerned.....but not everybody can. And daemon tools is the ONLY software which will allow you to play ALL SD2 titles without a cd or the correct hardware.

(and no....I don't have anything to do with Daemon tools!)

1. Make an image of your cd with e.g. cloneCD (other types are supported)
2. Install and run Daemon tools.
3. Mount the image on Daemon's virtual cdrom.
4. Run or install from that virtual cdrom.....works like the original (as long as the image file is a good read)

any queries on this great piece of software go to the daemonshome.cjb.net
