Operation Flashpoint US Version
Ok so I bought my copy today but I would like to make a copy to leave here at work, I tried using Clone CD but no luck. It seems to copy fine but when I try to play it with the copied cd the game crashes before it even starts up. Anyone else have any luck copying it?

It's SafeDisc 2, so you'll need CloneCD with a Philips/Acer writer. (Very few others can handle SD2 properly)

I can't be 100% certain since I don't have a Plex, but I think I read that it will correctly write SD2 but can be read in your recorder only.
WAIT... that was true, BUT! now the version of SD2 thats on there (and like the one in the 1.01 update of Max Payne) has an ATIP check so it will not play in any cd recorder. So I guess to answer your Plex question about this particular game is no. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. |

I too have a plextor 12/10/32a and for most games this is enough with Clone Cd to backup the games I purchase, however Safedisc2 does seem to defeat even the plextor on this.
There are two parts to the answer. 1. Read the readme file which states that the Cd must be in the first CDRom drive (i.e. if you have a burner on X: and a CDRom /DVD on Z: then place the CD in X ![]() 2. To make an exact image with your plextor, what I suggest you do is to use Clone CD to make an image on your hard drive and to then use a program called Betablocker (this is available at GCW) to repair the weak sectors on the image before you burn the CD. It worked for me. |

Or better still, use Daemon Tools to mount a virtual cdrom of your cloneCD image and run from that. Works every time, with every game.
