Myst 3 cd question PLEASE

I am having a problem, can someone tell me if it is a cd ##### problem. I have gotten to the top of the first world where that freak takes the book and disappears. I push the ball and the 3 windows open, and that bearded guy starts telling me about the 3 worlds. Then all of a sudden my game stops an goes back to windows. Is this a cd ##### problem????? Someone help me please!

Probably not. This game is buggy. A lot of people have complained about the game crashing to windows...constantly in some spots, seemingly random in others. The game is still "playable". I managed to beat it anyway, despite the occasional crashes and not fully supporting my video card. My suggestion would be to wait for a patch since I believe 1.3 is currently being worked on. If you don't want to wait, it's still possible to play, you just have to try to find a workaround if possible. For example, some of these areas can be passed just by looking upwards as you move through them. Also, you may want to ##### out some of the Myst 3 boards (the official one would be a good place to start ) since I'm sure you'll encounter at least one other post with the same problem. EDIT: In cases of crashing during video, just skip them with ESC or the space bar. Had a problem where it suddenly started crashing during the first movie with Atrus and that's how I got past it.
