Need advice on copying DVD

I own a US Gamecube and I wanted to backup my game. Many of you have seen the tiny discs which are DVDs. I didn't expect anything but popped the disc in my drive. As I expected, it doesn't read. Now a friend of mine told me you can rip the game DVD with a DVD-Rom, convert it somehow and write it with a burner. I don't want to get into any DVD burner stuff, I can't get a hold of one. But I can get a hold of a DVD-Rom and CD burner... any suggestions?

p.s. where can i purchase 1.5 gig mini discs?

Thanks a billion

DVD, whichever format, holds shite loads of data. If you want to "Backup" any form of dvd and unless you can severly compress it you aint gonna get it to fit on a cdr dude! You need a dvd writer like the pioneer A03 and then you need to come back here and enquire further.
