First you need to get your PS2 chipped.
Info about chipping can be found at
http://sr5.xoom.com/psxmodshop/
If you are getting it chipped immediately get the Neo 2.2
If you can wait a while get the Neo 4 when it's released
You will also need (If using the Neo 2.2) a boot cd such as Action Replay 2 or Region-X. Region-X is better as it makes your DVD Player multiregional.
To copy games you need one of the following clonecd, Nero Burning Rom or Cdrwin.
I would advise trying to copy Tekken Tag or silent scope first as these are simple copies to make. Use Verbatim as your media.
For guides on the Cd writing software refer to psxcopyworld.co.uk
Other sites with useful information are
www.sgt-dan.com and www.ps2ownz.com.
To boot your copy using ar2 insert boot disk and hold reset button until main menu appears, release reset and cd tray will open you have about 4 seconds to change the boot disc for your backup. Goto start game without codes and press X. It should say loading game and goto a black screen it can take upto 20 seconds from here and your game should come on providing the copy is successful.
I think I have covered more or less everything here.
If you need any more help leave a post and someone will reply.
