Settlers4 Crack(1.06.815)-unable to play over network between Win98se & Win2k
One pc runs under Win98se the other under Win2k.
If I want to play over network I get a host has different version message. Under Win98se Settlers4 shows the version 1.06.815 (in the main menu ; right on the bottom) but under Win2k it shows version 0.00.0!!! That seems to be the prob! I think the crack has a Win2k problem. |

This seems a registry-related problem. It seems that you are unable to write
to HKLM as normal user (I just know NT4 and W98, but since W2k is based on NT4 tech, this seems reasonable). Cat the folloing lines into a file named S4.reg and double click on it as Administrator. This should solve your prob. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> snip: S4.reg <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BlueByte\Settlers4] "Version"=dword:0000032f "Path"="." "Program"="S4.EXE" <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< snip >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cheers |

I've already checked this before this post- these entries already exist.
