Diablo 2

ok heres the thing. i want to back up my diablo 2 game so i can use the backup cds instead of the regular. but all the patches i see to make it get rid of the securom 2 (i think thats what its called) make it unplayable on battle.net. So how do i exactly copy this game so i may use it with the backup cds rather than the regular ones.

I made copies of my Diablo 2 CDs with cloneCD. You must make sure you have a CDRW theat can read and write copy protected CDs. From what I understand, most of the newer CDRW's have this capability or CloneCD's web page has a list of CDRWs that work. Follow the directions for cloneCD at this link:

At first I didn't think the copies worked because when I played the game, I would get an error message and a "make sure original disc is in drive" message. but then I read somewhere that you couldn't play the copied CD in the CDRW drive. So after placing the copied CD in my regular CD ROM drive the game worked perfectly. I don't know why the CD drive makes a difference but that is what worked for me.

Good luck
