making backup copies of Diablo 2
I made a backup copy of Diablo 2 using clonecd and the instructions in the article "backup protected CDs". I installed the game using the copies but when I play the game I get invalid page fault error and make sure original CD is in drive. If I put the original CD in it works fine. My question is can you make a backup copy of Diablo 2 so you don't have to use the origianl discs or patches to modify executables? By the way, I have a Creative 12 10 32 CD RW which CloneCD states is able to handle DAO-RAW.
any help would be greatly appreciated. |

These are the directions I used:
Here are the instructions to make a working backup of most Protected CDs using CloneCD in combination with a CD-Reader/CD-Writer which can both can handle DAO-RAW: Create the following directory: <TempDir>: C:\TEMP\CD Create a CD-Image using CloneCD with these settings: Set Read Speed to 1x (176 kByte/s) Select Read SubChannel Data from Data Tracks Select Read SubChannel Data from Audio Tracks Select Fast Error Skip Set Read Retry to at least 5 Set Error correction to None UnSelect Don't report bad sectors UnSelect Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner When ready burn the CD-Image a CD-R using CloneCD with these settings: Set Write Speed to any desired speed Select RAW DAO Select Don't Repair SubChannel Data UnSelect Simulate Writing (if available) Select Burn Proof/Just Link (if available) unSelect Perform Laser Power Calibration unSelect Wait until Buffers are full Select Always close last Session Play the game! |

Thanks for you r mail, i think you misunderstood me and i misunderstood you, i thought you asked whehter youu can make a perfect back up! i answered yes, then i asked you which settings you used, to compare them to what i thought you should use ! Your settings loook correct to me but why do you put read retryes at 5 and error correction none . Did these work for you! What you can do is get Clony V1.05 and check what it says! |
