Attn: d-LiTe Virtual Pool 3: exe vs. icd

I'm surprised that no one has touched on this yet, but I've run across several of my programs that have a relatively small .exe along with a much larger .icd file.
Well, Virtual Pool 3 is also set up this way (I'm guessing that it has something to do with SafeDisc?) which brings me to my problem: Both 'fixed .exe' archives for VP3 - one for v:1.0 and one for v:3.0.8.9 - don't seem to work. Of course, I tried the first before I applied the latest patch. That didn't work so I patched it and gave the second one a shot, with no luck. Mind you, this has only been a problem with Virtual Pool - I've never had this problem before. In fact, what I usually ended up having to do was eliminate the original .icd and .exe and just put the fixed one in their place and everything worked fine. (The fixed file is usually the same size as the original .icd file) But for some reason, Virtual Pool doesn't want to comply. Any ideas as to what can be done? Has anyone sucessfully got VP3 to work without the CD?
