How do I identify a V5 PS2 when buying?
I want to buy the PS2 V5. I know the model number to look for is 3000x R or 3500x R. But I hear that PS2 V4's have the same numbers. How can I be sure that I'm getting a v5 PS2 when I'm buying it at the store without opening it up?

Check it's an R model. Ask the store when they took delivery. If it's 2002, then it's highly unlikely to be v4.

The Target here was out of PS2s and when they got their new shipment a couple weeks ago... they were V4 30001R. I bought one there prior to this shipment and it was a V5. For what it's worth...
